ACUPUNCTURE
Acupuncture

What is Acupuncture?
Acupuncture is the insertion of hair-thin needles into the body at specific points, thereby stimulating and activating the body's self-healing mechanisms. Acupuncture is an effective therapy for certain medical conditions, especially those involving painful disorders, osteoarthritis, low back pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, tennis elbow, fibromyalgia, etc..
Needle Acupuncture
How it works
The following pictures show how needles are inserted as well as a sample diagram with the specific points the needles are inserted depending on type of pain.

Laser Acupuncture
How it works
Laser acupuncture is done by a device that emits a red light beam somewhat similar to a grocery-store checkout scanner and poses no risk unless you stare directly at the beam. The beam stimulates hand acupuncture points with a low-energy laser beam and a mild electrical current.

Acupuncture Injection Therapy
How it works
Acupuncture injection therapy is a fast, effective acupuncture method which combines traditional knowledge with modern homeopathic and herbal remedies. By injecting a solution into the acupuncture site, the patient experiences immediate, lasting relief. Unlike in normal acupuncture, the patient is out of the office in just a few minutes. This is because even after the patient leaves, the solution is still stimulating the acupuncture point while the medicine is slowly absorbed in the body. AIT is an excellent treatment for conditions that acupuncture treats, and is especially effective for arthritis, pain, and sports injuries. AHC is one of the first and only clinics in South Carolina to offer this treatment.
