Chiropractic Techniques

Alternative Health Clinic doesn't give cookie-cutter treatments - each patient is unique and so are our treatment options.  From the start, we talk to you to figure out what you need, then through our exam procedures isolate the problem.  From there, our doctors have a variety of tools to begin the healing process.

Manual Adjustments

Manual manipulation of the spine and other joints in the body have been around for a long time.  In fact, Hippocrates, the famous Greek physician who lived from 460 to 357 B.C., published a text detailing the importance of manual manipulation.  In one of his writings he declares, "Get knowledge of the spine, for this is the requisite for many diseases".  Evidence of manual manipulation of the body has been found among the ancient civilizations of Egypt, Babylon, Syria, Japan, China, the Incas, Mayans and Native Americans.

Modern day chiropractic techniques have developed based on scientific research of the spine, muscular skeletal system, and nervous system.  This foundation in research is coupled with natural healing philosophies to deliver targeted care that lets the body function properly.  As chiropractic has progressed, so has the techniques available to doctors for treatment.  From Gonstead to Thompson to Diversified techniques, our doctors use a range of tools to deliver the most effective pain relief and healing.

Computerized Adjustments

Twenty years ago the first computerized adjustment systems were created.  Because a small number of patients suffered from conditions where it was difficult or impossible to treat through manual manipulation, computerized adjustments have grown exponentially.  Through the state-of-art Pro-Adjustor system, the chiropractors at Alternative Health Clinic can safely treat patients with osteoporosis and other complicating conditions.  The Pro-Adjustor works by using low force but high repetition, thus gently adjusting the vertebrae.
